Rough Roads Slow Trucks, Rob Productivity
Rough roads or resistance from a wet, spongy surface will slow a truck. In the case of a rough road, the driver reduces speed because of the comfort factor. If a driver reduces speed by half a mile per hour, that reduction equals a loss in production of about 50,000 tons by the end of one year.
