Heavy Equipment Opeator Training

Caterpillar Certified Instructors, Emmanuel Chatelain and Luc Chereau, and Angel Luis Gonzalez Suarez, Product & Application Training Consultant, of the Malaga (Spain) Demonstration & Learning Center spent ten days conducting Level II Heavy Equipment Opeator Training and Machine Application & Production Seminars (MAPS) for the STAM construction organization at Tanger Med Port and Sahel Industrial Zone jobsites near Tanger, Morocco.
Six Site Supervisors and production Engineers (Conducteur de Travaux et Chef de Chantiers) received MAPS training on subjects: Best Operating Practices, Correct Machine Application, Job Setups, Loading and Dozing Techniques, Efficiencies, and Production Calculations. Thirty of their heavy equipment operators received instruction on 623G Wheel Tractor Scrapers, D8R/D10T Track Type Tractors, 980H/966H Wheel Loaders, 330D Hydraulic Excavator, 140H Motor Graders, 735 Articulated Dump Trucks and 771D Off-Highway Truck covering these training segments:
- Safety/Walk Around Inspections
- Machine Start-up & Shut-down Procedures
- Cab & control features
- Machine operator techniques to improve efficiencies
- Job site set ups
After deliver of the above training sessions, the customer informed the Caterpillar instructors that their production increased from an average of 10,000 m3 moved per week to 35,000 m3 per week.
