Overview

The MD6420 rotary drill is highly productive and versatile due to a proven, robust design and long-lasting systems. Powered to drill large holes in soft- and hard-rock applications, this drill is equipped to perform in a variety of environments around the world. Features like the drill's heavy-duty frame deliver reliable performance, outstanding availability and low cost of ownership. Like all Cat® drills, the MD6420 is designed to deliver just the right amount bit load force (up to 42 000 kg/92,594 lb), rotary torque 15 185 N•m (11,200 ft-lb) and on-board air 56.6 m3/min (2,000 cfm) to achieve fast penetration rates and optimize drilling based on mining conditions. An industry first, the patented Tricone Pipe Rack places a tricone bit on each pipe when single-pass drilling. Removal of bit from the bit sub and lead pipe can take only one shift, increasing productivity. This is just one example of the many innovative technologies found on the MD6420 that combine to offer all-around value and performance. The MD6420 can accommodate multiple mast sizes: 10 m, 13 m, and 16 m.
