Overview

A versatile and highly productive drill, the MD6540 is powered to drill large holes in soft- or hard-rock applications and efficiently operate in extreme conditions. Our engineers built the MD6540 to be productive, reliable, easy to service, safe and comfortable anywhere on the globe. It is the ideal size and weight to be highly mobile, making it the best value in its class. It also has an advanced technology platform that includes drill monitoring and auto functions, among other systems, that further support its productivity and low cost of ownership. Powered to drill 229-381 mm (9-15 in) diameter holes, the MD6540 delivers the right amount of bit load (54 000 kg/119,050 lb), rotary torque (20 880 N•m/15,400 ft-lb at 124 rpm), and on-board air (3,600 cfm) to achieve fast penetration rates. And with a small footprint and a quick setup, you realize greater production time. Furthering its robust design and availability, the MD6540 conquers extreme environmental conditions with its ability to efficiently drill in temperatures ranging from +52° C (125° F) to -40° (C/F) and altitudes over 4572 m (15,000 ft). Coupled with innovative technology and low cost of ownership, the MD6540 is delivering value from start to finish. The MD6540 can accommodate two mast sizes: 16 m and 20 m.
