Cat® C3.4B Industrial Diesel Engines offer the perfect balance of durability, fuel efficiency and low emissions. The C3.4B Industrial Engine is offered in ratings ranging from 45-55.4 bkW (60-74.3 bhp) @ 2200-2500 rpm, which meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage IIIB emission standards, and 63-90 bkW (84.5-120.7 bhp) @ 2200-2500 rpm, which meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage IV emission standards. Fuel & Oil

Tier 4 Interim or Tier 4 Final, Stage IIIB or Stage IV engines require Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel containing a maximum of 15 ppm sulfur, and new oil formulations to support the new technology. Cat® engines are designed to accommodate B20 biofuel. Your Cat dealer can provide more information regarding fuel and oil.

Low Cost Maintenance

The S·O·SSM program is available from your Cat dealer to determine oil change intervals and provide optimal performance.

Tier 4 Final, Stage IIIB Aftertreatment Features


Technology and Power. The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology chosen performs through the work cycle of the engine, allowing it to work efficiently. Engine performance has been optimized to provide maximum power, and the emissions module is invisible to the operator in most duty cycles.


Mounting. Multiple off and on engine installation options provide customers with simple and flexible solutions for many applications.
Service. Minimum 3,000 hour DPF ash service intervals for wall-flow DPF. Through-flow DPF is service-free for the emissions life of the engine.

Tier 4 Final, Stage IV Aftertreatment Features (Ratings Greater than 56 bkW (75 bhp)


Technology and Power. The DOC/SCR technology provides customers with a compact aftertreatment solution. The DOC/SCR is invisible to the operator while equipment is being used.


Mounting. Multiple on engine mounting positions for DOC/Mixer. Flexibility of remote mounting of SCR can in various orientations.
Service. Aftertreatment is designed to be service free for the emissions life of the engine.
