For Immediate Release: February, 12, 2014
Release Number: IPRR0114
Peoria, Ill. February 12, 2014 – Caterpillar is exhibiting Tier 4 Final, Stage IV Final technologies for industrial engines at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014.
As previously announced in August 2013, Ramin Younessi has been appointed vice president of Industrial Power Systems & Growth Markets Division at Caterpillar. Accountable for all Cat industrial engines with a displacement of 18 liters and below, the realignment of segments within the reciprocating engine business will better align engine products with global customer requirements. Younessi brings more than two decades of global leadership experience and perspective, as well as a strong track record for quality and advanced technology product development for developing markets.
With a focus on the customer, Younessi has recently appointed Bill Giunta as General Manager, Global Sales and Marketing with commercial responsibility for marketing, branding, sales and product support for Cat engines in industrial applications.
This realignment brings increased focus on meeting and exceeding our customers’ requirements. Younessi ’s team will continue to place emphasis on partnering with customers to understand their business and equipment requirements. Today, customers are demanding proven technologies, lower owning and operating costs, and service and support where and when they need it, and Caterpillar is delivering on these demands.
Caterpillar has developed and validated application-specific U.S. EPA Tier 4 Interim, EU Stage IIIB technology solutions with proven real-life performance. With over 51 million hours recorded on more than 100,000 engines powering Cat machines and Original Equipment Manufacturers’ (OEM) equipment, these solutions meet both the emissions standards and the unique needs of each of our customers.
Caterpillar recognizes that one technology solution does not fit all applications. By offering a comprehensive technology portfolio with multiple combinations of electronics, fuel systems, air systems and aftertreatment components – based on engine size, application and geographic destination – we deliver specifically tailored scalable, integrated systems that meet our customers’ needs.
"Our multiple engine configurations, including Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), no DPF, power unit and engine options, all with flexible installation configurations, ensure our customers are able to optimize power and lower operating costs while being backed by Caterpillar’s world class service and support,” said Younessi. "With less than 15% new content over Tier 4 Interim, our proven suite of technologies at Tier 4 Final, offers our customers success today and into the future"
With the largest industrial engine power range of any manufacturer in our industry, the latest technological advancements are built on a legacy of quality. Cat industrial engines are utilized by a wide range of OEMs in the construction, mining, and general industrial sectors.
This year at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Cat Industrial Engines will exhibit in the large North Hall, booth 10915. The Tier 4 Final, Stage IV models featured include the C2.2 engine and a C4.4 ACERT™ power unit as well as cutaways of the C15 ACERT and Cat Clean Emissions Module (CEM).
