Houston, TX – Caterpillar Oil & Gas is pleased to announce the launch of a new Cat® well stimulation pump for the well service market to complement the company’s existing product portfolio of pressure pumps. Starting in June 2014, Caterpillar will begin accepting orders for the Cat WS305 XD, a 3000 bhp (2237 bkW) quintuplex well stimulation pump. In addition to offering complete pumps for well service customers, Caterpillar also offers a variety of fluid ends with plunger sizes ranging from 4” to 5-1/2.”
“Since introducing the Cat pressure pumps to the market last year at OTC Houston, we’ve seen an incredible demand for our pumps from customers seeking one source for comprehensive power solutions on their trailers,” Scott Roberts, Caterpillar Oil & Gas well stimulation product marketing manager stated. “The WS305 XD is our newest offering, aimed at providing customers with even more power and flexibility for their trailers operating in the harshest conditions.”
The Cat well stimulation pump product portfolio consists of four well stimulation pumps in triplex and quintuplex configurations in a standard, Extreme Duty (XD) series or Stainless Steel (SS) series. The Cat well stimulation pumps feature fluid ends and power ends designed to an industry standard footprint, allowing customers to easily fit the Cat pump into their existing trailer designs. In addition to the standard fluid ends, Caterpillar offers an XD fluid end with superior durability for the harshest operating conditions as well as stainless steel fluid ends which are compatible with all Cat XD series components. The fluid ends on all models have a valve-over-valve design to simplify valve, seat and plunger installation, and each fluid end block is manufactured with a robust material conditioning process. A full assortment of discharge flanges, suction manifolds, and bore sizes are also offered.
