Caterpillar is showcasing at M&T Expo 2015

For Release in South America: May 2015
Release Number: 142PR15

At M&T Expo 2015 Caterpillar will present its unmatched lineup of machines, integrated technologies and services designed with the primary goal of helping customers succeed. The Caterpillar organization and Cat® products are built to work for contractors of all types, construction materials suppliers and specialty trades.

Caterpillar will exhibit about 20 different construction machines, ranging from a small skid steer loader to a 75-tonne hydraulic excavator and incorporating technology ranging from the simplest asset tracking system to high precision, automated grade control, all designed to help equipment operators, managers and owners get the most from each machine. The 2035-square-meter exhibit (Booth 60/61) is among the largest, and will also present a variety of Cat work tools designed and manufactured to optimize the performance of Cat machines.

Last year Caterpillar celebrated 60 years in Brazil, and today Caterpillar Brasil is the country’s largest exporter of construction equipment. Caterpillar produces 40 different models from eight different machine families, most coming from Caterpillar’s largest manufacturing facility in South America, located in Piracicaba. The facility makes wheel loaders, motor graders, dozers, hydraulic excavators, compactors, generator sets and a variety of components. Caterpillar also operates a factory in Campo Largo, Paraná State, devoted to the production of backhoe loaders and small wheel loaders. Caterpillar Brasil products are exported to more than 120 countries. It is fitting that Caterpillar has exhibited at M&T Expo since its inception in 1995. The 2015 exhibit will mark the ninth.

Cat machines debut at M&T Expo 2015

Several Cat machines will be on display for the first time in South America. The AP1055F Asphalt Paver with SE60 VT XW screed, the 420F2 Backhoe Loader and the 302.7E Mini Hydraulic Excavator make their South America debut at M&T Expo.

F Series Pavers from Cat Paving Products feature performance improvements and technology with a customer-friendly interface. Several features help improve fuel economy while maintaining high performance levels. Eco-mode is standard on F-Series pavers. When used with automatic engine speed control, Eco-mode efficiently manages engine RPM to optimize fuel economy, reduce sound levels and keep the paver running smoothly. An integrated generator, the power behind a new screed heating system, is another fuel-saving enhancement. Touchscreen displays provide increased flexibility for operating and adjusting the machine. The new single-switch auto-fill feeder system simplifies setup and helps provide consistency.

The F2 Series Cat Backhoe Loaders are represented by the 420F2. The new F2 Series center-pivot models feature a new operator station and added features and options that further enhance performance and operator productivity. All of the new F2 Series models have an extremely powerful implement hydraulic system, which uses a load-sensing, variable-displacement piston pump that provides full lifting and digging forces at all engine speeds and matches hydraulic flow to work demands for highly efficient operation. Pilot-operated joystick controls with in-cab pattern changers are standard on the 420F2 and 430F2.

The 302.7E represents the Cat E Series Mini Hydraulic Excavators, which are designed for productive work in tight spaces and for easy transport from job to job. The mini excavator contrasts with the 374F Hydraulic Excavator, the largest machine in the Caterpillar exhibit. The 374F is designed for high production with its Cat engine producing 352 kW (478 hp).
