Technical Training

Caterpillar service training courses provide theory and hands-on training for current paving equipment including:

  • Cat Pavers
  • Cat Cold Planers
  • Cat Reclaimers, and
  • Cat Asphalt and Soil Compactors

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Trace the flow of oil through the hydraulic system
  • Test and adjust all hydraulic pressures
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Explain ECM functions and calibration steps
  • Set up and adjust grade and slope control (pavers and cold planers)

Classes are kept small in size to offer more hands-on opportunities and time for direct instructor interaction. Each course is approximately 50/50 classroom and hands-on training. Written and hands-on examinations after each major system ensure course objectives are met throughout the four-day session.

The 2012 training calendar includes courses on the following products:

  • AP600D/AP655D Asphalt Pavers
