Compact – Control Techniques for Asphalt Compactors

Compact Control for Asphalt Compaction

CAT® COMPACT FOR ASPHALT COMPACTORS

FINISH JOBS FASTER IN FEWER PASSES

WHAT CAN CAT COMPACT FOR ASPHALT COMPACTORS DO FOR ME?

Increase productivity and efficiency. Cat® Compact gives you control over the process from placement to final compaction—identifying when asphalt is at the optimal temperature and keeping operators informed of mat coverage and number of passes. That allows you to meet specs in fewer passes.

Save time and money. Minimizing passes burns less fuel. These control techniques also reduce the number of manual compaction tests required and can identify hidden problems that might otherwise lead to rework or excessive material costs.

Improve operator performance. Real-time data in the cab of your compaction equipment tells operators exactly when and where to work—instant feedback that leads to uniform results.

Manage risks. Using Cat Compact limits testing personnel on the ground around the asphalt compactor for a safer jobsite. It also helps ensure the structural stability of the finished product and reduces the potential for performance penalties.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT COMPACTION TECHNOLOGIES?

Simply looking to help your operators work in the proper temperature range for efficient compaction? Want the added benefits of 3D mapping or machine-to-machine communication? We have options that fit your application and budget—and let you scale up or down as needs change. Your Cat dealer can help you choose the best intelligent compaction technology for your jobsite.

  • Cat Compact with Auto Adjustable Compaction (AAC). AAC technology includes both the front and rear drum—adjusting through the full range of amplitudes in as little as four seconds for excellent performance and uniform compaction throughout the mat.
  • Cat Compact with Compaction Meter Value (CMV). This accelerometer-based system measures and records composite stiffness of the asphalt layer, base layer and sub-base material.
  • Cat Compact with Mapping. Available with different levels of accuracy, mapping systems correlate compaction measurements to locations, allowing operators to visually monitor progress, identify trouble spots, and ensure coverage and uniformity.
  • Cat Compact with Pass-Count & Temperature Mapping. Real-time visual references of passes made and asphalt mat temperatures enable more uniform compaction results.
  • Cat Compact with Connectivity. Machine-to-machine communication helps keep rolling patterns in sync by sharing coverage and pass-count maps across multiple machines.
