Leverage Caterpillar connected data and security principles to improve efficiencies, increase productivity and make your business more profitable.
Machine Drive Power is an energy-based measurement system that correlates compaction with rolling resistance to provide an indication of soil stiffness. The system is for use on all Cat® compactors over 10 metric tons: smooth drum (CS) or padfoot (CP), or smooth drum models with padfoot shell kits. It is suitable for granular and cohesive soil applications and measures to the depth of an average lift of 30-60 cm (12-24 in). Measurements can be made with the vibratory system active or inactive.
Machine Drive Power has an optional Mapping system, which helps the operator visualize the work as it occurs, ensures that the compactor covers the entire jobsite and produces uniform work. It can also indicate problem areas allowing remediation to occur while the ground is open at a lower cost. Mapping documents the work and provides data for analysis. SBAS or RTK systems are offered depending on accuracy needs and available infrastructure. Initial investment can be scaled up to meet job-specific needs.
Connectivity, an optional machine to machine communication system, helps sync rolling patterns by sharing coverage and pass-count maps between the operating displays of multiple machines. Ideal for use when performing echelon compaction, operators can monitor areas of coverage and the number of passes made via a color display. If a trailing operator sees an area of missed coverage, they can easily pick it up to ensure the entire rolling pattern gets the attention that is needed. System records temperature and passes for future analysis and documentation.
