Caterpillar Launches "New Range-New Rules" 2018 Operator Challenge

For Release in the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, United Kingdom: May 2018
Release Number: 217PR18

Cat® dealers in Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom are preparing to host the Caterpillar New Range-New Rules 2018 Operator Challenge.

During the upcoming spring and summer months, Cat dealers will stage regional heats where the most gifted operators will demonstrate their skills at the controls the new Cat 320 and 323 Next Generation excavators. These regional events will provide the opportunity for machine owners and operators to test first-hand the standard integrated technologies of the 320 and 323 and to experience the power, performance, and operator features of these new excavators.

The best machine operator finalist from each participating country will be flown to the Caterpillar Demonstration & Learning Center in Malaga, Spain, the first week of October for a three-day round of challenges that will further test the contestants’ skills and precision across a range of Cat equipment, including dozers, motor graders, wheel loaders, articulated trucks, and, of course, the Next Generation excavators. The contestants’ use of integrated technology to gain speed and accuracy will be a significant aspect of the timed challenges.

The winner will be crowned “Cat Operator of the Year" and will be presented with the prize of a VIP trip for two to the United States, first visiting the Caterpillar Customer Visitors’ Centre in Peoria, Illinois, before heading to Las Vegas for a holiday.
