Protection for your Applications
 

Cat® base edge systems go through a series of carefully controlled manufacturing processes to deliver strength, durability and long life. They come welded and assembled, reducing your installation and replacement time.

 

INCREASE DURABILITY
A consistent heat-treat process increases strength and resists abrasion. Shot blasting removes impurities that can cause inclusions on a weld, and controlled cooling reduces the chance of stress points.

SAVE INSTALLATION AND REPLACEMENT TIME
Butterbead is applied to the back side of the base edge so you can weld the edge onto the bucket without preheating.

IMPROVE MACHINE PERFORMANCE
Base edges are designed by Caterpillar engineers for improved performance on specific machines.
