At day’s end, O’Neil Himel parks his Cat® skid steer loader in the back yard, hoses it down, covers it up and puts his chief security officer to work. “I trust Rin Tin Tin to keep an eye on it,” says Himel who runs a one-man dirt moving operation in southern Louisiana.
Rin Tin Tin is not the only one watching out for Himel’s machine. “My Cat dealer always has my back,” he explains. “I’m just one guy, but I get the same attention as any other customer. If I ever have a problem, they get right on it.”
Problems are rare however because Himel upgrades his skid steer loader annually, financing it with Cat Financial. “I like to run a new machine and they make it easy for me to do that. I’m on my 10th one now, and every one’s been better than the last.”
He says he sticks with what he likes because his machine “can be anything I need it to be. Today I’ve got a grading job. Tomorrow I’ll cut grass. The day after that I’ll haul trash or break cement or drag stumps around.”
Whatever the day brings, Himel is ready—with the machine, work tools and support he needs to build a successful business.
