Cat® C32 – 60 Hz

Standby and Mission Critical
1250 ekW

This C32 rating features higher power density for standby and mission-critical power applications while significantly lowering costs through reduced size and weight.

The newly-rated C32 has a smaller footprint and up to 44 percent more power density than competitive power solutions on the market today.

  • 46% better motor starting
  • G3 class transient performance
  • 50°C ambient capability
  • Random wound generators
  • On-board paralleling with EMCP 4.4
  • Up to 5000A dual package-mounted breakers

Cat 3512C – 60 Hz

Reduced Fuel Consumption and Lower Emissions
1750 ekW

These generator sets have been re-engineered with the higher power densities requested by customers to meet increasingly challenging restrictions on capital, site size, and cost.

Rated at 1,750 ekW for 60 Hz standby applications, the Cat® 3512C offers reliable backup power from an optimally sized engine and a reduced overall footprint that delivers lower overall site preparation, transportation, installation and maintenance costs, reduced fuel consumption, and lower emissions.

  • Competitive 151.56 square foot footprint saves up to 13 percent of installed space compared with competing generator sets at the same rating.
  • Meets the NFPA power restoration requirement for Level 1 systems and accepts 100 percent block load in one step.
  • Meets ISO 8528-5 G3 requirements for steady state and load acceptance and can be configured to meet U.S. EPA Emergency Regulations.
  • Can be equipped with a low- or high-voltage frame alternator for quick load acceptance through exceptional motor starting capabilities to minimize oversizing the generator set due to motor starting requirements.
  • Uses the field-proven Cat ADEM™ A3 ECM, which integrates ignition, governing, air-fuel ratio control, and engine protection.

“Maximizing the return on investment for standby power requires customers to specify a solution that is precisely sized to balance power availability and reliability with lower costs,” said Lenaik Andrieux, general manager for the Caterpillar Large Electric Power Division. “These standby generator sets with improved power densities will allow customers to fine-tune the selection of the power they need through a compact package that can significantly reduce their costs for both the short and long term.”

Cat 3516E – 60 Hz

Industry-Leading Power Density for Standby
2750 ekW

The newly rated Cat 3516E offers reliable backup power from a footprint of 220.8 square feet – saving up to 12 percent installed space compared with competing generator sets of similar ratings. Certified to U.S. EPA Stationary Emergency Regulations, this reliable package is the result of the ongoing refinement of the Cat 3500 Series engine, which has demonstrated its performance and durability in hundreds of thousands of installations around the world.

The Cat 3516E can be equipped with a low- or high-voltage alternator, and uses the field-proven Cat ADEM™ A5 engine control module (ECM), which integrates all engine functions including ignition, governing, air-fuel ratio control, and engine protection.
