About Lafayette

The Lafayette, Indiana, U.S.A. facility is home to more than 1,900 Caterpillar employees. They design and manufacture Cat® 3500, 3600, and C175 engines and provide remanufacturing services for 3500 engine products. These diesel, gas, and dual fuel engines are used in marine, petroleum, electric power and rail applications as well as in large Cat mining trucks. Located behind the facility is a dedicated power generation station that includes four generator sets (C175, G3520E, G3516H, and G3520H) that run continuously.
