The Daihakone Country Club has recovered from typhoon damage.

Caterpillar provided an emergency Cat® 308SR Hydraulic Excavator.

Typhoon No. 19, which hit the Kanto region on October 12, 2019, caused extensive damage to the Daihakone Country Club, where Cat® Ladies Tournaments are held.

The record-breaking rainfall caused widespread flooding and landslides, and the rocks and trees that had been washed away by the torrent made it impossible to recognize the golf course. Greenkeeper Tomomi Sakiyama, who has been in charge of managing the course for over thirty years, recalls, "We started preparing for restoration, but with limited manpower and heavy machinery, we were at a loss."

When Caterpillar Japan heard about the club's crisis, they scoured the Kanto and Hokuriku regions to find heavy machinery that could be used to help restore the club, and urgently transported the 308SR all the way from Niigata.

"Thanks to the 308SR they provided, we were able to work much more efficiently and finish the restoration work before the turf renewal starts in March," greenkeeper Sakiyama remarked.

Next August, the Cat Ladies Tournament will be held for the first time in two years. What will unfold on this beautifully restored golf course?
