Tyler Reddick and No. 8 Caterpillar Team Show Speed Despite Late-Race Damage at Kansas Speedway

"We had good speed in our No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE at Kansas Speedway today. It was hard at times to get a feel on the handling of our car since it felt like it would take about seven to eight laps for the front tires to come in today, but we did a better job adjusting throughout the race this time than during our first trip to Kansas earlier this year. It felt like for most the day I was snug on entry to the corners but then would become loose on center and exit, so a lot of our focus was on figuring out what changes would help me the most overall. We just have a couple other things to continue to work on as a team to put ourselves in better contention at these races. I thought maybe I had a right front tire going down a couple laps before I got into the wall towards the end of Stage 3, but it was tough to tell if that is what was happening in that moment. That's a feeling I'll definitely put in my notebook and learn from. We still have three more opportunities left this year to finish out my rookie season strong, and I'm really looking forward to getting to Texas Motor Speedway next week to try to finish one spot better than we did in July."

Tyler Reddick and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen Team Earn Hard-Fought 12th-Place Finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL

"Every time I come to a road course, I grow as a driver. We had a great No. 8 Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen Chevrolet today, and I want to thank my team for working with me all day long. It wasn't an easy day, but we all kept with it and improved throughout the race. It took a little bit of Stage 1 to re-familiarize myself with the course, so I spent a lot of that stage being careful to not overstep and wreck. After a pit stop and adjustment during the second stage, I was able to rotate a lot better all throughout the track, which helped me gain a lot of traction on the field. We had a couple cautions fall later during the race that helped us with some track position a little bit, overall, it was a really good effort by my No. 8 team today. They kept with it and remained patient with me throughout the day, while relaying information on areas of the track to continue to work on. I definitely learned more about this track today and will put that in the notebook for next year."

Tyler Reddick Forges Through Intense Race at Talladega Superspeedway with a Seventh-Place Finish in Cat Next Gen Dozers Chevy

"That was a crazy race at Talladega Superspeedway, but I'm proud of my No. 8 Cat Next Gen Dozers team for rallying all day long. They worked really hard to keep me in the game when we got into some trouble, and I really appreciate it. We got caught up in a wreck on Lap 1 that changed our game plan a little bit when we got some nose damage from the No. 95, but my team was able to make all the repairs quickly enough to get us back on our normal strategy by the time the competition caution came out. It was a lot about survival today with all the wrecks that were happening. I was able to squeeze through a couple big ones, but also got caught up in a couple others. Luckily, nothing was bad enough to take us out of the race completely. We just stayed focused, fixed what we needed to each time and kept fighting for every spot we could. It was a wild race today, so I'm happy we are able to come home with a seventh-place finish."

Tyler Reddick and No. 8 Cat Mining Team Show Speed Before On-Track Contact Cuts Night Short

"We had a fast No. 8 Cat Mining Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE at Las Vegas. We just didn't really have any luck on our side tonight. I was a little tight to fire off, but we had good overall speed in our car. Unfortunately after our first pit stop of the night, we had a loose right rear tire so we had to make a second stop to fix that and fell a lap down. It's frustrating to have a car as fast as the one we had and be trapped a lap down, but as a team, we knew we still had a lot of time to get back on the lead lap and into the mix before the race was over. On the final lap of Stage 2, I got into the wall pretty hard and it ended our night early. That's not the way we wanted tonight to go with our Cat Mining Chevy, but we'll look to regroup next week at Talladega Superspeedway."

Tyler Reddick and the No. 8 Childress Vineyards Team Show Speed En Route to Fourth-Place Finish at Bristol Motor Speedway

"Our No. 8 Childress Vineyards Chevrolet Camaro was a fast one tonight, and we had a great finish to show for it at Bristol Motor Speedway. It took a couple adjustments to get our car to where I needed it to be, but our communication as a team on what adjustments to make has been a big focus for us over the past few weeks and that paid off during tonight's race. I fired off a little loose on the bottom and tight on the top, so our team had a decision to make on what to focus on. I felt that the top was the better groove for our car, so we chose to work on loosening up our Chevrolet a little bit throughout the night and got it in a really good spot for the final stage. Those adjustments made it so I was able to cut through traffic during that last stage and race our way into the top five for the last 100 laps or so. I think I may have pushed my front tires a little bit too much on that final run, but this was a really good night for our team. We're chasing wins in these remaining races while also working on building a strong notebook for next year, and this is a solid step in the right direction for both of those goals."

Tyler Reddick and No. 8 Cat Rental Store Team Capitalize on Data to Adapt and Secure 11th-Place Finish at Richmond

"I think Richmond Raceway is one the most challenging tracks on the circuit, but my No. 8 Cat Rental Store team did a great job tonight helping me find my rhythm and build a strong run out there with our Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. Not having any practice here for my first Cup start, it took me a little bit of time in the first Stage to figure out the best way to get around here with the balance I had in our car. My whole team did a good job of analyzing the SMT data available to us in real-time and relaying to my spotter, Derek Kneeland, on what I needed to be doing differently on track to gain spots out there. That data really did help and made a ton of difference in our night. Between that feedback and the changes we made during our pit stops tonight, I was able to become more confident in the car and run harder with each run of the night. I needed just a little more on the short runs to get going, but overall, this was one of better races we've had in the last few weeks. We'll take this and continue to fight next week at another short track."

Tyler Reddick Battles Through Mid-Race Contact with Cat Power Chevrolet in First Southern 500 Start

"I've gotten to run a lot of cool races, but the Southern 500 has always been towards the top of the list for me, so it was really special to be able to make my first start in it tonight. I love NASCAR's Throwback weekend, and our No. 8 Cat Power Chevrolet honoring Jeff Burton's No. 8 scheme that he accepted Rookie of the Year honors with looked great out there. We fired off really fast tonight, but our handling was just a touch loose. My team made some good adjustments early in the run to tighten me up, but then the rear security of our Camaro became really unstable, which made it tough to manage the handling through the turns on both sides of the track. During the start of Stage 3, the field got stacked up on the restart and I received some damage to the nose of our car, right above the grille. That affected the handling a lot for the rest of the night and kept the temps up high, too. We kept digging though, made repairs when we could and tried to get every spot possible out there. It just wasn't our night tonight, but we'll keep after it. There are still nine more races for us to go out and challenge for a win."

Tyler Reddick and No. 8 KCMG Team Show Speed and Lead Laps Before Being Swept Up in the 'Big One'

"Our No. 8 KCMG Chevrolet team came out today with one goal and that was to win. We gave it our all and came close to making the NASCAR Playoffs during my rookie season in the NASCAR Cup Series. Our No. 8 KCMG Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE was fast tonight and handled really well, too. I have to thank RCR and ECR for always bringing such great engines and cars to the superspeedway races. My spotter, Derek Kneeland, and crew chief, Randall Burnett, did a great job calling a race that got me up towards the front with 10 laps to go. I tried to make a move for the lead with about eight laps to go, and it didn't work out like I planned. It, unfortunately, hurt our car and chance to win. I was clear for about a second when I went to make it, but it's Daytona and things change quickly. There weren't a lot laps left at that time, and you have to do what you can to try to win to make the Playoffs. I can't thank KCMG, Caterpillar, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, Alsco, Chevrolet and all our partners at RCR and ECR enough for their support during my rookie season. I promise we're still going to be fighting hard every week for the next 10 weeks to get our first win in the Cup Series."

Tyler Reddick and No. 8 Cat App Team Fight Hard to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive at Dover International Speedway

"We started off with our No. 8 Cat App Chevrolet a lot better than yesterday. I was able to roll through the turns a lot smoother and just needed a bit more rear security. I thought maybe that issue would be cleared up as the track began to rubber up, but it just never tightened up quite as much as I needed it to. The adjustments that my crew chief, Randall Burnett, and the team made through Stage 1 and 2 helped fight that looseness, but I still needed even more stability to really carry speed into the corner like I needed to. At the end of Stage 2, we took a big swing on our adjustments, which did help solve the rear security issue, but took it almost to the other extreme and made it too tight to turn. The day didn't go how we wanted it to, but I'm proud of our team. No one gave up, and we worked hard all race long. This isn't over for us yet. We still have one more chance to make the Playoffs at Daytona International Speedway, and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Tyler Reddick and No. 8 Cat App Team Forge a Top-15 Finish at Dover International Speedway

"Today was a good start to our doubleheader weekend at Dover International Speedway. Our No. 8 Cat App Chevrolet was fast from the start and just needed some tweaking on handling. The track built really tight at first today, but changed over the course of the race. I struggled with being too loose in the rear of our Camaro for the second half of today, which prevented me from trying a couple different lines on the track, so that's something we'll need to adjust on for tomorrow's race. But the good news is we get a second shot to finish even better tomorrow and we definitely have a solid Cat App Chevrolet to work with. This is the best start to a doubleheader weekend that we've had this year, so I'm looking forward to getting back after it tomorrow."

Tyler Reddick and the Cat App Team Fight to Top-20 Finish at Daytona International Speedway Road Course

"Man, the Daytona International Speedway Road Course is tough, but our No. 8 Cat App Chevrolet team kept after it, and we were able to continue to get better throughout the day. I spent a lot of time on the Chevrolet simulator before this weekend to help prepare, but there was still a big learning curve during the first stage of this race. I struggled with some wheel hop in Stage 1, but we were able to make some adjustments before Stage 2 started to help fight that. I got more comfortable with the course as the race went on and had better drive off to fight for positions. The red flag actually helped me a little bit since I was able to cool off a little bit and review some SMT data with my crew chief, Randall Burnett. We made a fuel only stop just before Lap 50, which helped me get some good track position. Unfortunately that final yellow came out with six laps to go, and we had to pit for four fresh tires. I got boxed in on that final stop, so that hurt our restart spot, but I was able to get our No. 8 Cat App Chevrolet back into the top 20 before the checkered flag came out. Not the day we wanted, but we maximized what we could and have three more shots to get into the Playoffs, so our fight isn't over yet."

Tyler Reddick and No. 8 Feeding America Team Show Speed En Route to Top-10 Finish at the Magic Mile

"New Hampshire Motor Speedway is one of the most challenging tracks on the circuit for me, so to come out of here with a top-10 finish feels great. We had a great starting spot with our No. 8 Feeding America Chevrolet but didn't have the handling to keep the track position in the preferred line. Our car was very tight for most of the day, which made it really hard to roll the center of the corners like I wanted to, so we had our hands full for the start of the race. We had some great speed though, we just had to adjust on our Chevrolet a little bit to get the handling to match it. Towards the start of Stage 3, the handling loosened up enough for me to really start rolling through the turns on the bottom and pick up some positions. With the final caution coming out when it did, we had to focus on saving fuel for a long time in the final stage, but we managed it well enough to not only make it to the end, but also fight our way into a top-10 finish. This team never gives up and we're fighting for every spot we can as we approach the cut-off to make the Playoffs. It's a roller coaster of a race each week, and getting more intense every week, but we're keeping after it. Overall, it was a good day for us at New Hampshire in the Feeding America Chevy. It was also great to be able to represent them on the track and all the good work they're doing to help our country."

Tyler Reddick And The No. 8 I Am Second Chevrolet Team Show Top-Five Speed Before Tire Issue Ends Day Early At Phoenix Raceway

"It's still a little too early to tell, but it felt like a tire cut on me and pushed me up into the wall, which ended our day. It's a bummer. Our team had a fast No. 8 I Am Second Chevrolet ZL1 1LE and were having a great race running inside the top-five for a majority of it. The traction compound did what we all hoped and opened up another groove on the track, which worked really well with our Chevrolet's handling. I would fire off loose and build tight as the runs went on, but my crew chief, Randall Burnett, and the team did a good job adjusting for that. Unfortunately, we lost some track position in the third stage when I tried to give some room while running three-wide on the restart, but we were able to start fighting back once we took four tires again. I don't know if we picked up something on the race track since debris can get stuck on the traction compound really easily, or what happened when the tire went down after that restart. It's really hard to say if that's exactly what happened, but regardless, we had a fast I Am Second Chevrolet. I wish we could have finished out the race, but at least we got some good stage points out of today."

"I'm really proud of this No. 8 I Am Second team's effort this weekend and glad that the results show it with our 11th-place finish today. We had a plan coming into the race on how we wanted to have our Chevrolet set up, and it worked out in our favor. The No. 8 I Am Second Chevrolet was snug all day, especially in Turns 1 and 2, but we continually improved on the handling throughout the race. It was a lot of fun being able to race in the top five for a portion of day, and I learned a lot while up there. I wish we could have finished one spot better to claim our first top 10 of the year, but my right rear tire completely came apart on the final lap, so I had to back off to make it back to the finish line. "Overall, we had a solid day with our No. 8 TAME the BEAST Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. I was loose for the majority of the day when I tried to run the bottom, but the adjustments my team made through the race helped a lot. I was able to get the top to work fairly well, especially on the long runs. I just needed a little more to fire off with, but we'll work on that. It was great to be able to run inside the top 10 today. That's momentum we can build on. When that final yellow came out, we decided to gamble in Las Vegas and stay out to go for the win. Unfortunately, we lined up fifth, which meant we were on the bottom for the restart. Tyler Reddick And The Caterpillar Team Show Speed In Daytona 500 Despite Late-Race Incident

"I'm still looking at replays to figure out what happened during that last wreck, but I know my No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE snapped a little loose right before it. I collected it back up and thought I could save it, but then the rear tires came up and someone hit me. Looking back, there's always things you would change. I wish I would have dove to the bottom but I had to make a decision in the moment and went with my gut. This just comes with this style of racing. I made it a little further in this Daytona 500 than in my first one, so that's a plus. My team did a great job getting our Caterpillar Chevrolet dialed in throughout Speedweeks. We survived a couple close calls during the race, got caught up in one big wreck and fixed it really well to where I felt like we were in good shape to contend for the win. Unfortunately, the finish just didn't go our way tonight. I could have rode a little bit more, but this Caterpillar team is here to win, and that's what we tried to do tonight."
