Cat® C2.2B Genset Delivers Seamless Integration Engineered for Sportfishing and Yachting

Auxiliary Engine Solution Offers Elevated Look, Power Flexibility and Compact Size to Optimize Engine Room Capacity

of

Houston, Texas — Caterpillar Marine today announced the new Cat® C2.2B Marine genset, designed to deliver reliable, compact and efficient auxiliary power for sportfishing vessels, motor yachts and superyachts. It complements the broad range of Caterpillar Marine’s high-performance propulsion platforms, providing a total power solution that works seamlessly with additional generators, marine battery systems and helm displays.

The Cat C2.2B offers important flexibility compared to conventional genset designs. With its standard paralleling functionality, provided by a control link box, a vessel can operate seamlessly on one or both generator sets simultaneously.

With four power ranges from 16 ekW to 26 ekW, the genset’s compact size optimizes engine room space for amenities of the vessel owner’s choice. The Cat C2.2B also features an advanced control system that supports multiple power sources while simplifying onboard power management operations. The advanced control system provides automated logic-based control with AC monitoring, alarm and shutdown control, digital AVR, and parallel load sharing capabilities.

Additionally, the Cat C2.2B offers an elevated style that reflects the luxury aesthetic of the yachting segment.

“Providing complete power solutions enables shipbuilders to streamline installation and ensure yacht owners experience reliable performance at sea,” said Janelle Totah, Americas Director of Sales. “The Cat C2.2B delivers what yachting demands – refinement and more space in the engine room for what matters most to each owner.”

The Cat C2.2B is supported by the global Cat dealer network, which provides 24/7 support to maximize time on the water.
