Caterpillar to Feature the Latest in Engine Technologies at the 14th CIPPE Exhibition in Beijing, China

Beijing, ChinaCaterpillar Oil & Gas will unveil its latest innovative power solutions developed specifically for the Chinese well service market at the 14th China International Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE) from March 19th to 21st  in Beijing, China. Designed for workover and mobile drilling rigs, the new Cat® C15 ACERT™ and C18 engine deliver reliable horsepower while meeting the newly-enacted Phase IV emissions regulations in China. The Phase IV compliant Cat C15 engine with aftertreatment packaged with a Cat CX31 transmission will be on display at the Caterpillar booth at the CIPPE show.  Also on display at the booth will be a Cat C175 power module for offshore drilling and a C4.4 TA HazPak scale model showcasing Caterpillar’s offerings for hazardous locations.

  • Cat C15 ACERT  China On-Highway Phase IV Engine: Developed specifically for the China well service market, the Cat® C15 ACERTTM On Highway Phase IV engine features a power rating of 540 bkW @ 1800-2100 rpm. Currently in production and available for order, the engine offers industry-leading power and torque capabilities optimized for drilling, workover and pump applications. Emissions solutions for the Phase IV Cat® C15 include an on-engine NOx Reduction System (NRS) and a modular aftertreatment.
  • Cat C18 China On-Highway Phase IV Engine: Available in a power rating of 630 bhp (470 bkW) @ 1800-1900 rpm, the new Cat® C18 engine has demonstrated robust validation operating on 350 ppm fuel sulfur in workover rig applications. Like the Cat® C15 ACERT engine, the Cat® C18 features an NRS, modular aftertreament and is governed by the ADEMTM A4. The Cat® C18 is in production and available to order.
  • Cat CX-31 – 600 Transmission: With a great power to weight ratio, the lightweight Cat® CX31 – P600 transmission delivers input power of 600 bhp (447 bkW) with a peak input torque of 2025 lb – ft (2746 N § m). The Cat® CX31 – P600 is optimized for pumping, workover and cementing application and features advanced well service controls to provide customers with flexibility and optimal performance. In addition to the Cat® C15 ACERTTM, the Cat® CX31 – P600 transmission seamlessly integrates with the Cat® C9 ACERTTM, C11 ACERTTM, C13 ACERTTM and C18 engines.
  • Cat C175 Offshore Power Module - Offering rated power of 1830 ekW at 1200 rpm (60 Hz) and a compact footprint, the Cat® C175 features high power density and lowered emissions. Designed for deeper drilling and higher mud pump loading, the Cat® C175 has been an incredibly popular power solution in the China market since its introduction in 2012.
  • The C4.4 HazPak SolutionCertified to meet  ATEX Directive (94/9/EC) Group IIA and Category 3G (Zone 2) Temperature Class T3 the C4.4 engine features standard factory certifications to improve worksite safety. The C4.4 offers a certified flameproof intake system to prevent any internal explosions from propagating to external atmosphere as well as an ATEX designed and tested exhaust system, compliant to EN 1834-1. As a factory-certified package for hazardous location applications, the C4.4 allows for simplified rig certification for OEM customers and improved serviceability versus the competition.
