Cat CVA Services Commitment 

Through a Customer Value Agreement (CVA) with Services Commitment, your dealer technician will be on site within eight hours of your service request being logged1. With a parts availability guarantee, you'll get the parts you need on time – as soon as the next business day2. If they don’t arrive when promised, you’ll receive a parts credit up to ₹50,000*.

How does it work?

When you place your order for parts, we will ask you for a need-by date and the serial number of your machine. If you did not indicate a need-by date, the timeline would be computed from day the order is placed. If the parts you need are regular maintenance parts and are not available within 24 business hours of your need-by date, you will receive a Parts Credit for the value of those late parts, up to INR50,000 per invoice. If the parts you need are repair parts and they are not available within 48 business hours of your need-by date, you’ll receive a Parts Credit for the value of those late parts, up to INR50,000 per invoice.

What machines are eligible?

Your machine is eligible for the Services Commitment if it falls into one of the categories below and was manufactured less than 10 years before the start date of your current CVA contract. Additionally, your current CVA contract start date must be on or after 1st June, 2024.

What parts are included?

Parts eligible for the Services Commitment fall into two broad categories: Maintenance Parts and Repair Parts.

Maintenance Parts refer to Cat parts typically used for preventive maintenance. This category includes all types of filters and vee belts but excludes fluids.

Repair Parts refer to Cat parts used for wear replacement and repairs critical to keep the machine running. Excludes parts most often used in planned replacement/overhaul and non-mechanical items.

Within these categories some exclusions apply. Excluded parts may include, but are not limited to, bulk orders, made-to-order items and discontinued part numbers. These are not eligible for reimbursement through the CVA Services Commitment program.

When will I receive the credit?

If the eligible parts order for your CVA machine is not fulfilled within the committed timeframe, you will be issued a Parts Credit for the exact value of the late parts, up to INR50,000 per invoice. This Parts Credit should be delivered to you within six to eight weeks as a digital prepaid credit to your email address.

How can I use the Parts Credit?

Parts Credit may be used to purchase only Cat parts at the Cat Dealer store and at any of the dealer offline or online sales channels. Parts Credit cannot be used in the purchase of new machines and rental charges for machines / engines. Parts Credits cannot be used to offset against any outstanding amounts with Cat Dealer and cannot be redeemed for cash or cash equivalent.

When we say a customer will receive parts within 24 or 48 hours, what does that mean?

Participating Cat dealers will include the following Parts Availability Commitments in every new or renewed CVA with CI Customers for Eligible Cat Machine Models entered or renewed on or after 1st June, 2024:     

1.     For new or renewed CVAs without Cat dealer labour:   

  • The Parts Availability Commitment shall mean the commitment made to customer for the eligible Cat Machine Models, to have the Maintenance Parts available at the Cat dealership, ready for pick-up by the Customer  

  i.     by end of the next business day if no Order Need-By-Date is captured, or if the Order Need-By-Date is the same day as entered in the participating Cat dealer’s ERP System, or   

 ii.     by the end of business on the Order Need-By-Date as entered in the  participating Cat dealer’s ERP System. 

  • If the Parts Availability Commitment is not met, the participating Cat dealer will issue a Parts Credit in favor of the Customer for the lesser of the price paid by the Customer for the specific Maintenance Part(s) (excluding all taxes or other fees) that was(were) not ready for pick-up by the Customer, or a cap of INR 50,000  per invoice, whichever is lowest, provided the Maintenance Parts that were not ready for pick-up in time are not already covered through Caterpillar Warranty or an EPP.   

2.     For new or renewed CVAs with Cat dealer labour:   

  • The Parts Availability Commitment shall mean the commitment made to the Customer for the Eligible Cat Machine Models, to have the Maintenance Parts available at the Cat dealership, ready for pick-up by the CI Customer or use by the participating Cat dealer Service Department   

                             i.     by end of the next business day if no Order Need-By-Date is captured or if the Order Need-By-Date is the same day as entered in the participating Cat dealer’s ERP System, or  

                            ii.     by the end of business on the Order Need-By-Date as entered in the participating Cat dealer’s ERP System. 

  • The Parts Availability Commitment shall mean the commitment to the Customer for the Eligible Cat Machine Models to have the Repair Parts available at the Cat dealership, ready for pick-up by the CI Customer or use by the participating Cat dealer Service Department  

                             i.     by end of the second business day if no Order Need-By-Date is captured or if the Order Need-By-Date is the same day or next business day as entered in the participating Cat dealer’s ERP System or 

                            ii.     by the end of business on the Order Need-By-Date as entered in the participating Cat dealer’s ERP System if the Order Need-By-Date is not the same day or next business day.   

  • If the Parts Availability Commitment above is not met, the participating Cat dealer will issue a Parts Credit in favor of the Customer for the lesser of the price paid by the Customer for the specific Maintenance Part(s) or Repair Part(s) (excluding all taxes or other fees) that was(were) not ready for pick-up by the CI Customer or use by the participating Cat dealer Service Department in time as per section 2 a or 2 b (as applicable), or a cap of INR 50,000 per invoice, whichever is lowest, provided the Maintenance Parts and the Repair Parts that were not ready for pick-up in time are not already covered through Caterpillar Warranty or an EPP.  
  • The Service Response Commitment shall mean the commitment with Customers for the Eligible Cat Machine Models to enjoy:  

                             i.     Priority Appointment Scheduling   

                            ii.     Diagnostics Before Arrival  

                           iii.     Progress Updates  

  •  If any of the Service Response Commitments are not met, at a minimum, the participating Cat dealer branch manager or local service leader will call the CI Customer to address the fact that the commitment was missed. No Cat Prepaid Credit will be issued to the CI Customer under the Services Commitment Program. If the participating Cat dealer decides that Cat Prepaid Credit will be issued to the CI Customer for any unmet Service Response Commitments, there will be no Caterpillar Participation for the Cat Prepaid Credit.  

Will I be eligible if my machine serial number is not captured by dealership at time of order?

If a customer that qualifies for the Services Commitment Program places an order for maintenance or repair parts but does not provide the serial number at the time of order and the Dealer misses the Parts Availability Commitment, would a Cat Prepaid Credit be issued under the terms of the Services Commitment Program? No, the customer would not receive a Parts Credit.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS



(1) 8 hours from the service request: Means 8 hours from initial customer contact logged via Services Commitment hotline (during the participating Cat dealer’s business hours).

(2) Next day: The business day next to the date of initial customer contact logged via Services Commitment hotline or Order Need-By-Date sought by the customer, as the case may be.

(3) Second Business Day: The end of the second business day from initial customer contact logged via Services Commitment hotline (during the participating Cat dealer’s business hours). Customer calls outside the participating Cat dealer’s business hours will be considered to have an initial customer call date and time of the start of the next business day.

(4) Same day: Means by the end of business on the day of the initial customer call (during the participating Cat dealer’s business hours) subject however to reasonable time being made available.

A. Each CI Customer Order can only capture one Eligible Cat Machine Model serial number. If parts are needed for multiple Eligible Cat Machines Models, then several orders must be placed, one for each serial number.

B. The following Cat parts will be considered excluded from the Services Commitment Program:

i) Cat parts constrained due to supplier chronic constraints or transportation interruptions outside of Cat Dealer’s control.

ii) Cat parts orders in Excessive or Bulk Orders (i.e. where the quantity ordered of a part exceeds the quantity needed to perform any repair or maintenance on the machine).

iii) Cat parts considered by Caterpillar as Made as Ordered Items.

iv) Cat parts covered by warranty or an Extended Protection Plan.

v) Discontinued Cat parts.

C. Force Majeure. Neither Caterpillar, its affiliates, or any of Caterpillar’s or its affiliates’ respective licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers or distributors will be responsible for any delays in delivery of Cat parts for which the participating Cat dealer offered Parts Availability Commitments, to the extent such delays in delivery result from any cause beyond Caterpillar’s or its affiliates’ respective licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers or distributors’ reasonable control, including fires, blockages, embargoes, explosion, earthquake, storms or other elements of nature, acts of terrorism, wars, epidemics, quarantine orders, government requirements, civil or military authorities, acts of God, strikes, labour disputes or other industrial disturbances, systemic electrical, telecommunications or other utility failures. Should any such delays in delivery occur, there will be no Cat Parts Credit given.

D. Refer to your CVA contract, or your dealer website for more FAQs and terms & conditions.

E. Withdrawal of the Services Commitment Program by Caterpillar or by the applicable Cat dealer will have no impact on the Caterpillar Participation or the Dealer Participation for the CVA’s entered into prior to the date of such withdrawal. Caterpillar’s obligation to continue to cover the Caterpillar Participation will end simultaneously with the expiration or termination of the relevant CVA.

* Customer receive a prepaid Credit up to INR50,000 which can be used towards those maintenance and common repair parts not already covered through warranty or an Equipment Protection Plan (EPP). Valid with participating Cat dealers. Offer may vary. Subject to restrictions and availability. See your participating Cat dealer for details. Services Commitment Program is for eligible customer with new or renewed CVAs as of Oct 1, 2024, and covers eligible Caterpillar machine models enrolled in a CVA only.
