In the rolling hills of New South Wales, Australia, the Divall family has spent generations moving earth—and hearts.
It all began in 1969 when Johnny Divall purchased Carrick Hill Farm, affectionately nicknamed “Lone Pine.” He raised his two sons, Andy and Mick, on the land, instilling in them the value of hard work.
It didn’t take long for the next generation to carve their own path by founding Divall’s Earthmoving & Bulk Haulage in 1991, trading tractors for a dozer.
“Our first dozer was a Cat® D8L. She’s still in mint condition and sits in our office today. It’s a reminder of where we came from,” says Andy Divall.
That single machine helped launch what is now a 300-person operation recognized across Australia. The family roots run deep, as today, Jack Divall, one of Johnny’s grandsons, is keeping the legacy alive—not just in the field but on the global stage. In 2022, Jack won the NSW Global Operator Challenge Final, earning a spot in the APAC regional finals in Japan.
“We’re proud of where we started and even prouder of where we’re going,” says Andy. “We see electrification as the future. That’s why we were the first major adopter of Cat XE models.”
Innovation and family values go hand in hand at Divall’s. They even built their own earthmoving machinery museum, named in honor of Johnny, to celebrate the machines—and memories—that built their business.
From one tough dozer to dozens of cutting-edge Cat machines, the Divall’s exemplify Caterpillar’s commitment to community and progress.
As Andy puts it: “We’re not just about moving dirt—we’re moving forward.”
