Overview
ADVANCED ENGINE PROTECTION AND LOWER MAINTENANCE COSTS
Cat® Coolants provide excellent protection against boiling and freezing to prevent component damage. They are designed as part of a system soluiton - Cat Filters, Cat Fluids and Cat® S·O·S ℠ Services - to offer enhanced protection against corrosion, scaling and deposits.
INCREASED DRAIN INTERVALS
Cat Extended Life Coolants (ELC) offer an impressive 12,000-hour/6-year drain interval with no fluid sampling required. The coolant system extender at mid-life (6,000 hours or 3 years) helps maintain coolant condition while protecting your machine.
LONGER ENGINE LIFE
Cat Coolants have been proven to reduce cavitation and extend component life. Our fully formulated coolant provides enhanced corrosion protection in any environment.
SIMPLIFIED MAINTENANCE
Cat ELC requires less frequent changes, fewer drain intervals and only requires one coolant additive for simplified maintenance of your machine.

FAQs
1. What makes Cat filters better than aftermarket filters for heavy equipment?
Cat® filters are engineered specifically for Cat equipment. With features like urethane end caps, spiral roving, acrylic beads, and non-metallic center tubes, they enhance contaminant retention and leak prevention. This helps protect your engine and hydraulic systems from premature wear—unlike many aftermarket filters that may not meet OEM standards.
2. Why should I use Cat fluids instead of generic alternatives?
Cat fluids are formulated to meet the exact specifications of Cat equipment. They help provide enhanced performance, reduce wear, and extend component life. Using non-Cat fluids may compromise system efficiency and void warranties.
3. What is Cat S·O·SSM fluid analysis and how does it help?
Cat S·O·SSM fluid analysis is a preventive maintenance tool that helps detect wear metals, contaminants, and fluid degradation. It helps identify potential issues before they become costly failures, allowing for proactive maintenance and extended equipment life.
4. How often should I replace Cat filters?
Follow the maintenance schedule in your equipment’s Operation & Maintenance Manual (OMM). Typically, Cat filters are designed for extended service intervals compared to aftermarket options, to help reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
5. Can I mix Cat fluids with other brands?
Mixing Cat fluids with non-Cat brands is not recommended. It can lead to chemical incompatibility, reduced performance, and potential damage to components. Use the Cat fluid selector tool to ensure compatibility. https://www.catfluidselector.com/
6. What are the benefits of using Cat DEO-ULS vs DEO?
Cat DEO-ULS (Diesel Engine Oil – Ultra Low Sulfur) is designed for engines using ultra-low sulfur diesel and equipped with aftertreatment systems. It offers enhanced oxidation stability and soot control. DEO is suitable for older engines without aftertreatment.
7. How do I interpret my S·O·S fluid analysis report?
The report highlights wear metals, contaminants, and fluid condition. Look for flagged values and trend data. If results are abnormal, consult your Cat dealer for recommendations. Regular sampling helps build a baseline for accurate diagnostics.
8. Where can I find the right filter or fluid for my machine?
Use the Cat filter cross reference tool www.catfiltercrossreference.com or consult your Cat dealer. Always verify part numbers and specifications to ensure proper fit and performance.
9. Are Cat filters and fluids more expensive than aftermarket options?
While the upfront cost may be higher, Cat products offer enhanced protection, longer service intervals, and reduced risk of failure—resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
10. How does S·O·S fluid analysis reduce downtime?
By identifying issues early, S·O·S analysis allows for planned maintenance instead of unexpected breakdowns. This helps minimize unplanned downtime and maximize equipment availability.
