IRVING, Texas, December 17, 2024―Designed for daily work, the Cat® M315 GC is easy to own and operate with features that help increase operator efficiency and machine productivity. The easy cabin access design has conveniently located controls for intuitive operation, a touchscreen monitor and improved visibility to complete work comfortably and safely throughout the shift. With optional blade control conveniently on the joystick and auto-axle lock-up, the design is built to help operators get more work done every day.
Powered by the Cat C4.4 engine, the M315 GC tailors performance to jobsite needs while meeting Brazil MAR-1 emissions standards, equivalent to U.S. EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage IIIA. Lowering engine speed when no operation is being performed, Automatic Engine Speed Control helps to reduce fuel consumption. The engine is compatible with diesel fuel blended with up to 20% biodiesel fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) or 100% renewable diesel, hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) and gas-to-liquid (GTL) fuels.
The machine’s advanced hydraulic system provides the optimum balance of power and efficiency, while providing the necessary control for precise digging requirements.

Simple and comfortable operation
Push-button start allows the M315 GC to quickly get to work. The cab design grants operators easy entry/exit with its tilt-up left console and straight access from the ground. Providing comfort throughout the shift, air conditioning controls are located on the machine display and are easily adjusted to the ideal operating temperature using the touchscreen monitor. A Bluetooth® radio option allows for seamless mobile phone connection to listen to music and for hands-free calling.
Inside the cab, the standard 203-mm (8-in), high-resolution touchscreen monitor features a continuously improved user interface enabling intuitive navigation via the easy-to-use touchscreen monitor. Quick identification of applications is provided by a grid list view with application names and categorized menu options. With color-coded notifications setting apart critical messages, the monitor’s notification center keeps essential information visible to the operation. In-monitor QR codes are provided to help the operator learn about machine features and functions.
The excavator’s two-way travel pedal is conveniently positioned and helps to maximize productivity. Helping to reduce operator fatigue, the auto-axle lock activates automatically when the travel pedal is in neutral, and the machine has nearly stopped.
Low costs
The M315 GC’s design offers quick and safe inspection and servicing with daily maintenance points accessible from ground level. Providing high-filtration performance, the hydraulic oil filter offers a long, 2,000-hour replacement interval, and anti-drain valves help keep oil clean during filter replacement. Scheduled Oil Sampling (S∙O∙SSM) ports are located at ground level to help simplify maintenance. With grouped greasing points and long greasing intervals, the excavator spends more time in the field working.
Built on a long legacy of high-performance and highly reliable wheel excavators, the M315 GC enjoys attachment commonality with the 313 GC excavator, along with common layout, systems and parts with Cat small excavators to help lower inventory requirements. Companies can customize the wheel excavator to applications using a variety of available attachments.

Enhancing safety
Standard machine LED lights offer better visibility of the jobsite in low-light operating conditions. The redesigned layout of the M315 GC provides improved right-side visibility compared to the M315 wheel excavator, and a rearview camera is standard with video feed displayed on the touchscreen monitor. Accessed from the monitor, a unique operator PIN code is required to enable the push-button starting feature.
Operators can select the in-cab swing lock to prevent the front linkage from moving while the M315 GC is moving. A ground-level shutoff switch stops fuel flow to the engine and shuts down the machine, and the switch can be padlocked to protect the machine from unintended use.
