Kurt Edwins, owner of Tridion Environmental in Holly Hill, South Carolina, grew up surrounded by Cat® equipment. “Most kids played with plastic toys” he recalls. “I had the real deal.” His father’s 1965 D7 bulldozer still sits on their property as a reminder of where it all began.
Kurt founded Tridion Environmental to specialize in grading, land clearing, stormwater control, and erosion management. However, entering the business wasn’t easy. Without any equipment of his own, he walked into Blanchard Machinery seeking a place to start. He found more than just equipment there—he found people who believed in him and his vision for his business.
“Anna Linly—my Cat lady—she had faith in me when I was just beginning,” Kurt says. “They welcomed me like family from day one.”
That belief in his vision and his abilities went a long way. “She wanted to help me grow,” Kurt continues, talking about Anna. With her support and the help of a rented Cat 323 excavator, he got to work: “She encouraged me to believe in myself, and I tackled some very large jobs. The rest is history.”
Kurt’s journey stands as a testament to what’s possible when hard work meets the right support. What began with a single rented excavator has grown into a dependable partnership. As Tridion Environmental’s business expanded, so did their fleet, with additional rentals and equipment purchases all supported by Blanchard. Today, Kurt leads a flourishing company grounded in hometown pride, hard work, and the lasting value of reliable machines and relationships.
