Cat® Remote Services is technology that works with your Product Link Elite™ hardware and lets your Cat dealer troubleshoot, perform certain diagnostics and update system software remotely while your engine remains in production.  ​

When an engine alert is received, simply call your dealer and report the fault code. While the engine continues to run, your Cat dealer can initiate a remote troubleshoot session, run live diagnostics and discover the issue. Your Cat dealer will then ensure you have the parts, service and support to take care of the issue. With Cat Remote Services you can:​

CAT REMOTE FLASH

MAXIMIZE UPTIME, ELIMINATE SERVICE TRIPS & EXPEDITE REPAIR…​

 

Cat Remote Flash enables your Cat dealer to send most Electronic Control Module (ECM) updates directly to your assets, no matter where they are, without interrupting operations and with no site visit required. ​

With Cat Remote Flash, the process is simple​:

  1. Caterpillar or your Cat dealer determines when new software is required and authorizes Remote Flash.
  2. The software is downloaded to the asset while it’s in operation.
  3. An onsite person initiates the software installation on the individual ECMs.  For Oil & Gas applications, you must be within 75 meters of the equipment to initiate the software update.
  4. You are notified, and the installation is complete.

With Cat Remote Troubleshoot, your Cat dealer can establish a remote connection to your assets, perform troubleshooting tasks and run diagnostics in near real-time, to determine the issue.  If a site visit is required, your Cat dealer will have the information necessary to send the right technician, the right tools and the right parts, to minimize your downtime.​

The Cat Remote Troubleshoot process is:​

  1. You call the dealer to report an issue with your asset.​
  2. The dealer initiates a Remote Troubleshoot session, then accesses live equipment diagnostics to remotely identify the problem.​
  3. If required, the technician arrives at your site with the correct tools and parts to carry out the repair.​
  4. When completed, the asset is returned to operation at full efficiency with minimum downtime.​
