Overview

SAFE, RELIABLE, HIGH PERFORMANCE HOSE ASSEMBLIES FOR ALL MAKES AND MODELS

Let's face it, hose and couplings are easy to forget about - until one fails. These critical components carry the fluids that are the driving force of hydraulic systems so hose reliability can make a difference in your operation.

Since the 1960s, Caterpillar has offered a range of high-quality hydraulic hose, coupling products and assembly tooling kits. We are the only major OEM to build its own hose products and continue to invest in improving engineering, reliability and value to make sure you get the safest, most dependable hose possible.

Cat Construction Equipment Maintenance: Do It Yourself Articles

Proper maintenance keeps your equipment reliable and job-ready. Check out these articles for hands-on tips to help extend the life of your machine.

Why Choose Cat® Hydraulic Hose & Couplings?

Explore frequently asked questions about Cat® hydraulic hoses and couplings. Learn about common failure causes, OEM advantages, maintenance tips, and how to order Cat hose assemblies.

What causes hydraulic hose failures in heavy equipment?

Common causes of hydraulic hose failures include abrasion, improper crimping, incorrect routing, contamination, and exposure to extreme heat or vibration. Using OEM Cat® hydraulic hoses helps reduce these risks due to their robust construction and precise engineering.

How do Cat hydraulic hoses help resist abrasion and extend service life?

Cat hydraulic hoses are built with multi-layered reinforcement and a durable outer cover that withstands oil, weather, and abrasion. This design helps long-lasting performance in demanding environments, reducing unplanned downtime.

Why choose OEM Cat hose assemblies over aftermarket options?

OEM Cat hose assemblies are tested for rubber compression, wire tensile strength, temperature adaptability, and corrosion resistance. They meet or exceed SAE standards, with XT hoses offering up to 1,000,000 impulse cycles—double the industry requirement.

How does Caterpillar ensure proper hydraulic hose crimping?

Cat dealers use proprietary tooling and software to assemble hoses to exact OEM specifications. This provides consistent, safe, and reliable crimps that meet Caterpillar’s stringent quality standards.

Can Cat hydraulic hoses and couplings be used on non-Cat equipment?

Yes, Cat hydraulic hoses and couplings are compatible with a wide range of equipment brands. With over 40 hose types and 3,000+ coupling options, Cat offers flexible solutions for various applications.

How does Caterpillar manage hydraulic system contamination?

Cat hose assemblies undergo contamination control processes during manufacturing. Routine inspections and maintenance help prevent hydraulic failures caused by debris or fluid degradation.

What support is available for Cat hose and coupling products?

Cat dealers provide full support including hose assembly, installation, inspection, and contamination control. They follow Caterpillar’s routing standards and use the latest tools and techniques to help ensure optimal performance.

How does proactive hydraulic hose maintenance improve uptime?

Regular inspections using tools like Cat Inspect help detect wear before failure occurs. Proactive monitoring and maintenance helps reduce unexpected downtime and extend the life of hydraulic systems.

What are the benefits of Cat reusable couplings?

Cat reusable couplings are ideal for large-diameter, high-pressure hoses. They help reduce downtime, are validated for safety, and offer cost-effective replacement without compromising performance.

How can I order Cat hydraulic hoses and couplings?

Order Cat hose assemblies through your local Cat dealer or online at Parts.Cat.Com. Eliminate the guesswork - Scan the code on your hose label and it directs you to the exact part you need to reorder. You can also assemble replacement hoses on-site with dealer support.
