Do you know the overwhelming advantages of using Cat® Grade with cross slope? Grade more accurately with this factory-integrated technology on your new Next Gen 120 motor grader’s monitor.
Estimated read time: 2 minutes
Cat® Grade with cross slope automatically sets the cross slope of your motor grader’s blade, giving you a smooth, consistent slope, reducing operator inputs and fatigue and allowing you to get more done. This quick video introduction shows you how it works and how you can access and save settings for ease of use on your worksite.
Estimated watch time: 2 minutes
With cross slope, you can increase your efficiency by up to 50% and lower your material costs by up to 40%, reducing passes, burning less fuel and saving you valuable time and labor costs.
Step-by-step Cross Slope Instructions
First, press the menu button and click on grade control [00:16].
You’ll see your current blade slope and your target slope in the middle of the screen.
The arrows on the right of the monitor indicate if you are above or below slope.
Use the button featuring the image of a hand to switch between automatic and manual blade movement. There is no lag between automatic and manually controlled sides of the moldboard [00:47].
Meanwhile, adjust your target slope with the rocker switch on your lever control. Press both buttons on your lever to match your current slope.
You can save up to nine target slopes for later use. To cycle through and save these slope settings, use the button on your lever [01:15].
