| Inspection | Evaluation | The machine is thoroughly inspected, including S·O·S℠ Fluid Analysis, attachment checks, and a full review of maintenance and service records. |
| Disassembly | Then, it’s completely disassembled down to the basic frame. All parts are carefully inspected and measured against Caterpillar Parts Reusability Guidelines. Certain parts (hoses, belts, seals, gaskets, bearings, knobs, wiring, switches, gauges) are always replaced with new ones. |
| Reconditioning | Frames are examined, straightened, reinforced, and welded when necessary. Worn linkage pins and shaft bearings are replaced, and hydraulic systems are restored to their original performance and reliability. |
| Engineering Updates | Engineering improvements are made since the machine’s original manufacture are incorporated during reassembly. |
| Engine | Transmission Tests | Engine, transmission, and torque converter are completely disassembled, inspected, reconditioned, and updated to Caterpillar Certified Rebuild standards. Each component is thoroughly bench-tested before installation. |
| Reassembly | Critical clearance and pressure settings are maintained and recorded. |
| Performance Testing | All critical systems are tested to verify that they meet stringent rebuild specifications. Tests are periodically audited by Caterpillar to secure compliance with standards. |
| Repainting | The entire machine is repainted, and new identifying graphics are applied, resulting in a like-new appearance. |
| New Serial Number | Once rebuilt, the machine receives a new serial number to certify completion of the process, along with a same-as-new Caterpillar Limited Warranty.* |
