It utilizes an integrated and intelligent sensor array to provide reverse collision warnings, detect people, inhibit motion, and enable automatic emergency braking. Additionally, visibility into event data and safety trends is available through VisionLink™.

NEXT-GENERATION SAFETY

Collision Mitigation System utilizes an integrated and intelligent sensor array to provide reverse collision warnings, detect people*, inhibit motion, and enable automatic emergency braking.
This system combines the detection capabilities of multiple technologies to empower machine operators and drive behavior change.

* The system may not detect people in certain circumstances, such as people lying down or crouching, or when cameras are impaired by low light conditions (dusk, dawn, overcast), inclement weather (snow, rain, fog), or other similar conditions.

COLLISION WARNING

Radar sensors provide the operator with monitoring behind the machine to boost jobsite confidence and awareness.
Audible and visual alerts help to reduce the risk of collisions with static and moving objects.
System alerts you when an object is in the critical zone behind the machine while in neutral or reverse.
Warning levels (1-5) change with ground speed, reducing “nuisance” alarms and increasing operator acceptance and awareness.

PEOPLE DETECTION

People Detection is an intelligent vision system that alerts an operator when someone enters within a machine’s hazard zone.
This system differentiates people from background objects and can detect multiple moving and stationary workers at once.
Three levels of alerts dynamically adjust based on a person’s proximity to the machine.
System highlights people in red bounding boxes on the in-cab monitor to help operators more quickly manage potential risks.
Utilizes smart camera with up to 180-degree coverage - detection distance of 8 meters off the machine centerline and 16 meters behind the machine.*

* Detection distance is an approximate range for each camera.

MOTION INHIBIT

Motion Inhibit works with Collision Warning and People Detection to provide extra safety behind stationary machines.
When the machine is stationary for a short time, Motion Inhibit automatically prevents direct reverse gear engagement if hazards are detected.
If the operator goes back into neutral and the danger is gone, the machine can then reverse.

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

Automatic Emergency Braking is a safety feature that can take direct control of a reversing machine.
When the machine is reversing, a collision potential is detected, and the operator fails to take evasive action,
emergency brakes will automatically engage.
When the collision potential is no longer detected within the critical zone, machine control is returned to the operator.

REAL-TIME MONITORING

When someone is detected within the critical zone, an operator alert is triggered, and the event data is transmitted in real-time to VisionLink.
This allows you to monitor detection frequency and identify opportunities that can help inform continuous improvement toward safety outcomes that are important to you and your team.
