Imagine adding to your fleet a shiny new, grey Cat® – just like grandpa had...only better.
That is the reality in 2025 with the debut of the Cat Limited Edition machines in “Centennial Grey.” Available in a limited supply, the paint scheme reflects the color of Caterpillar’s first products.
"We are so excited to offer our cutting-edge Cat machines – with all of the modern innovation and technology that our customers count on today – with the original grey color and emblems of generations past,” said Joel Grimes, Sr. Market Professional, Caterpillar Building Construction Products.
The limited-edition line of commemorative centennial models are available for purchase through select Cat dealers around the world. The models include Caterpillar 100 Years special markings, commemorative interior plate, and the iconic, original Caterpillar logo in red. The logo was initially retired from use on Cat machines in the 1990s.
The Cat Limited Edition machines are available in North & South America, Europe, Africa & the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions.
“It was no small feat to ‘go grey’ for this limited-edition line, but seeing these incredible machines roll off the line, made it all worth it,” said Barbara Guerra, Marketing Manager for Latin America. “It is such a powerful way to honor our legacy, while celebrating our progress.”
The Cat Limited Edition machines appeared for the first time at the World of Concrete in January and the Cattle Industry Convention and National Cattleman’s Beef Association (NCBA) trade show earlier last month (February).
“Having the new Cat Limited Edition machines appear at an agriculture-related trade show is a wonderful and endearing nod to our ag origins and where it all began for Cat,” said Grimes. “It is such a nice tribute to the work of our original machines.”
The exclusive line of machines will be displayed at additional Centennial celebrations and trade shows throughout the year.
