Cat CVA Levels: Matching Your Operation to the Right Fit

Cat® Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) are designed to fit the way you work. From Convenience and Performance to Confidence, each level offers a different mix of maintenance support, dealer involvement and equipment protection. No two operations run the same. Different machines. Different crews. Different demands on uptime, cost  and planning.

So, it  wouldn’t  make much sense for every service plan to look the same either.

That’s the idea behind Cat Customer Value Agreements (CVAs). They’re built in levels, giving you options based on how you run your equipment and how much support you want behind it. Whether you prefer to handle maintenance yourself or  integrate your Cat dealer for full support, there’s  a structure designed to fit.

At every level, the goal stays consistent. Make ownership more manageable. Reduce surprises. Keep machines working.

It comes down to three tiers: Convenience (Level 1), Performance (Level 2) and Confidence (Level 3). Each one builds on the last, adding more support, more visibility and more protection.

Level 1: Convenience

Control in Your Hands

A Convenience CVA is built for owners who like to stay hands-on.

This is our most empowering level. You stay in control of your maintenance, with the convenience of having planned maintenance parts delivered when you need them and aligned with your machine's schedule. The right filters, fluids and parts arrive at the right time, helping you stay prepared and keep your operation moving forward.

This level includes delivery of genuine Cat parts and fluids along with access to tools like VisionLink™ to help track maintenance and machine data. For new machines, Equipment Protection Plan (EPP) coverage can be aligned with the agreement, adding another layer of support.

You also benefit from our Services Commitment exclusive to CVAs, helping ensure parts availability stays predictable.

Level 2: Performance

Dealer Support That Keeps You Moving

A Performance CVA shifts more responsibility to your Cat dealer and brings trained technicians into the equation. Planned maintenance now includes both parts and labor. Certified dealer technicians handle routine service, which helps ensure work is done to Caterpillar standards and is documented to ensure machines maintain the same quality across each service. That consistency can make a difference in how machines perform over time. Our Services Commitment gets taken up a notch with levels 2 and 3, adding a layer of security to your service needs.

Level 3: Confidence

Full Coverage, Fully Accounted For

Confidence is the most comprehensive CVA tier. With planned repairs included and a cost-per-hour (CPH) structure, it helps make maintenance and repair costs more predictable while reducing exposure to major, unexpected expenses. It's designed to help provide a higher level of confidence throughout the life of your equipment.

Confidence builds on everything included in Performance and extends protection even further. Planned maintenance, repair coverage and deeper machine insights work together to support long-term equipment health and uptime.

Condition monitoring also goes deeper at this level. Fluid health, machine data and inspections come together to provide a more complete picture of asset condition over time. These insights help you better understand how your equipment is aging so you can make more informed maintenance and repair decisions.

Beyond the Levels: Undercarriage and GET CVAs

Targeting Where Wear Hits Hardest

While the three core levels define how your machine is supported overall, CVAs can also be tailored to specific high-wear components.

Undercarriage and Ground Engaging Tools (GET) are two of the most significant.

For GET, CVAs can assist with inventory management, helping ensure tips, adapters and edges are available before they wear down. Different cost structures, like pay-per-consumption or cost-per-ton, give flexibility based on how the machine is used. In higher tiers, support can extend to full GET lifecycle management, including bucket rebuilds and blade management, helping maximize component life and plan maintenance more effectively.

For undercarriage, wear components like links, shoes and sprockets can represent a large share of owning and operating costs, an Undercarriage CVA helps bring structure to replacement and maintenance. Instead of reacting to wear, it’s monitored and planned.

There’s Always a CVA That Fits

Convenience. Performance. Confidence.

Each level builds on the last, giving you options based on how you want to manage maintenance, how much support you need and how critical uptime is to your operation.

Some customers stay hands-on and value simplicity. Others lean into dealer expertise for consistency and insight. And for some, full coverage brings the kind of predictability that keeps everything running without disruption.

Add in options for undercarriage and ground engaging tools, and CVAs become even more tailored to the realities of the job.

The best place to start is a conversation. Your Cat dealer can help take inventory of your equipment, your workload and your goals to the CVA that fits. Because when the plan fits the operation, everything runs a little smoother.
