Cat® backhoe loader lift capacity at maxiumum height ranges from 6,730 lb (3,053 kg) on the 416 to 8,886 lb (4,031 kg) on the 450. Capacity varies by model, bucket and configuration, so check the machine specifications for your application.
A Cat® backhoe loader's weight capacity depends on the model and whether the front loader or rear backhoe is lifting. Front loader capacity at full height ranges from 24,251–29,321 lb (11,000–13,300 kg). Rear lifting capacity varies with boom reach, stick and attachment.
The Cat® 416 is the smallest Cat backhoe loader available. It has a minimum operating weight of 15,591 lb (7,072 kg) and 85 net hp. Actual weight varies by drive system, cab, bucket, stick, counterweight and other options.
Cat® Backhoe Loader attachments include loader and backhoe buckets, pallet forks, augers, hydraulic hammers, thumbs, brooms, compactors, rippers, snow plows and material-handling arms. Choose a tool for digging, loading, demolition, cleanup or lifting and confirm model compatibility.

Do not overload a Cat® backhoe loader, carry riders, travel with a raised load or dig before utilities are located. Never operate on unstable ground or near an unsupported trench edge. Follow the load limits, lower the implements before leaving the cab and use stabilizers as directed.
A Cat® backhoe loader combines a front loader and rear digging arm in one versatile machine. Use it to dig, excavate and trench, then load, lift, carry or backfill material. Compatible attachments can also equip it for demolition, grading, snow removal and other jobs.
Cat® backhoe loaders can travel up to about 23–25 mph (38–40 km/h), depending on the model, transmission, tires and configuration. When roading, lock and secure the backhoe and loader, use required lights and signs, wear the seat belt and follow local road rules.
